dc.description.abstractWe demonstrate an innovative approach for a mid-IR gas sensing spectroscopy with a cost-effective commercial Fabry-Perot cavity quantum cascade laser. Using transient blue-chirped emission of such a laser, the spectral fingerprint of methane at 8.15µm was clearly observed in absorption.
