Abstract
Microvibrations produced by spacecraft mechanisms can impair the performance of sensitive payloads, making reliable ground-based susceptibility testing essential during development. This paper presents the redesigned microvibration characterisation facility at CSEM, featuring a reinforced suspended platform, an independently isolated shaker assembly, updated control electronics, and improved amplitude-stabilisation algorithms. The upgraded system delivers clean single-frequency excitations up to 0.2 g from 30 Hz to 2000 Hz with reduced cross-coupling and distortion. Validation tests confirm stable and repeatable operation across the full range, providing a robust environment for assessing the microvibration sensitivity of space payloads.
