Abstract
Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) Channel Sounding (CS) is a new feature introduced in Core Specification 6.0 that enables secure, fine-ranging capabilities between connected devices. However, translating this capability into real-world products requires a validated software stack paired with an efficient on-device estimator. Addressing this need, we present a certified Bluetooth® LE 6.2 software stack and a distance-estimation method that runs directly on the device using standardized CS measurement reports. To improve robustness and accuracy in the presence of noise and reflections, the proposed method extracts the dominant, delay-related phase pattern from frequency measurements using a subspace approach. The implementation targets resource-constrained embedded hardware, demonstrating that super-resolution Bluetooth® ranging is achievable with limited resources.
