Abstract
A new 4 cm², 3-terminal perovskite-silicon tandem (3TT) photovoltaic (PV) cell is demonstrated to overcome the limitations of amorphous and crystalline silicon cells under highly variable indoor-outdoor lighting. The 3TT design enables operation of each junction at their respective maximum power point irrespective of environmental conditions, achieving record efficiencies above 30% under 1-sun conditions and strong performance down to 500 lux. Field-tested prototypes showcasing energy autonomous wireless edge to cloud data transfer demonstrate stable operation and direct compatibility with 1 V electronics. Ongoing work targets miniaturization and integrated power management to realize fully autonomous, centimeter-scale edge-AI-assisted smart sensing IoT nodes.
