Abstract
The ability to design and produce compliant mechanisms by Additive Manufacturing (AM) was investigated in several projects. In the last ten years, significant progress were made especially on design and optimization software as well as on the possibility of printing thin metallic structures. Nevertheless, compliant mechanisms are pushing AM and current process simulation solutions to their limits, presenting significant challenges to fully benefit from this new process [1].
