Searches for extrasolar planets, their characterisation, and measurements of fundamental constants’ variability are key applications of extreme-precision astronomical spectroscopy. Laser frequency combs (LFCs) are recognised as a valuable tool for precise and accurate spectrograph calibration. This talk presents how exploiting new technologies and progress in nonlinear optics can provide miniaturized LFCs in the visible and near-infrared.
