Abstract
We present the design of a 9.6 μm pitch event-based pixel with a configurable antagonistic center surround. Using this pixel with a customised address-event representation encoding system, we implement a dual-line event-based sensor with a resolution of 512×2. In simulation, our sensor achieves a dynamic range of >120 dB and operates at <250 mW, surpassing modern commercial line sensors. The center surround network implements a configurable spatial high pass filter, mitigating output redundancy while maintaining 12.00 μs event latency. This novel sensor will enable faster and more data efficient industrial machine vision, with the configurable center surround helping filter out problematic lighting fluctuations.
