Abstract
Optical fiber sensors have proven to be a powerful solution for monitoring physical, chemical, and biological parameters in demanding environments, ranging from heavy machinery monitoring to high precision medical diagnostics. Their small footprint, resistance to electromagnetic interference, and ability to support distributed and multiplexed sensing make them well suited for Industry 4.0, energy storage systems, and life-science applications. Here we demonstrate a high-performance Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) fiber sensing interrogator and show its applicability across three representative use cases: industrial vibration monitoring, internal temperature sensing in lithium-ion batteries, and antibody detection using biofunctionalized gratings. The results highlight the versatility of FBG technology and the potential of miniaturized interrogators to enable next-generation industrial and bioprocess monitoring solutions.
